What We Do

She Believes In Me (SBIM) provides life skills, emotional support and urgently needed resources to families in Herndon and the surrounding areas.

Liaison Program

FFC Public School social workers and counselors identify and refer the most vulnerable students and their families to SBIM for emotional support and resources. SBIM provides those resources to assist children and families with daily living.

Believers Program

A Life Skills Program for Children

SBIM creates seven monthly ‘safe space’ events for our children to learn life skills and socialize with mentors and peers in a supportive environment. During each event we highlight a theme such as mental and physical health, self esteem, healthy relationships, creativity, or gratitude and take the kids through a series of fun and engaging activities to help them learn to be closer to themselves, and their families.

Teen Leadership Program

NEW for 2024!

The Teen Leadership Program is a SBIM initiative committed to building future leaders within the community and preparing these teens for a self-sufficient adult life after high school. Teens learn important life skills like personal finance and healthy eating as well as career development skills like resumes and interviewing. Additionally, high school students are assigned a mentor and support our community through volunteerism.

Summer Camp

Summer can be a lonely time for kids who don’t have the resources to engage in activities outside the home. SBIM sponsors summer day camps to send dozens of kids to camp to help them develop important social, emotional, and cognitive skills, all while creating memories that last a lifetime.

Back-to-School

Going back to school in the fall is an exciting time for most children. SBIM provides hundreds of students with a backpack full of the supplies they need to start-off the school year successfully.
